Simy displays #EndPoliceBrutality shirt after goal against Juventus.

Crotone's Nigerian striker Simy Nwankwo celebrated scoring against champions Juventus in Serie A on Saturday by displaying a shirt with the inscription: #EndPoliceBrutalityInNigeria.

The match ended 1-1.
Simy is the second Nigerian footballer in Italy to back the nationwide protests against police brutality, extortion, and extrajudicial killings back home, after compatriot Victor Osimhen also held up a shirt that had ‘End Police Brutality in Nigeria’ written on it after scoring in Napoli's 4-1 rout of Atalanta earlier on Saturday.

Crotone took the lead with a Simy penalty in the 12th minute, before Alvaro Morata levelled from Chiesa’s assist nine minutes later.

Juventus, missing Cristiano Ronaldo after he tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, thought they had scored a winner when Morata turned the ball in from close range in the 77th minute, but a long VAR review showed his heel was offside.

Juve, chasing a 10th straight title, have eight points from four games while Crotone picked up their first point.
Winger Federico Chiesa was sent off on his debut for the Italian champions.

Signed from Fiorentina during the recent transfer window, Chiesa was given a straight red card for a studs-up challenge on Crotone"s Luca Cigarini on the hour.
