The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed on his speech on Tuesday, said that Nigeria is not safe regarding the issue of fake news and there is urgent need for the government to regulate the social media space.

Now Nigerian's youth is not taking the speech lightly, as they say, the government is trying to deprive them of their  right to speech.

Nwaogu, in his speech said that what the youth are posting on social media is far from the truth.


Lai Mohammed is not asking to shut down the social media, he was only suggesting to regulate the social media.

To regulate the social media does not mean taking away ones right to speech, it simply means creating a law or principle that would guild whatever is to be on social media. 


The principle via law is to be created in other to avoid fake news and miss information.

Am only asking to have policy that regulates the social media and check fake news and misinformation".

 

Nwaogu added that Lai Mohammed was right over the regulation of social media in Nigeria. if only what he actually meant was talking about peolple faking news on social media.

Most of our youth nowadays, goes to social media to slander the country by posting what isn't happening and making the world belief Nigeria is worst and corrupt.


Let stop this act and build the country reputation.

Avoid the spread of fake news he said, but as youths we must continue to correct the government when they are wrong.
